Corporate Style That Commands the Room

Corporate style is not about looking expensive. It is about looking decided. The most authoritative people in any room rarely have the most complex outfits — they have the most coherent ones.

Choose one neutral as your base and live in it. Charcoal, navy, ink, deep olive, espresso. Pick the one that flatters your skin closest to the face and build 70% of your work wardrobe in it.

Tailoring is the single biggest signal. A jacket that fits the shoulder line correctly does more for perceived seniority than any logo on the planet. If you only invest in one alteration, fix the shoulder.

Detailing should be invisibly correct. A belt that matches the shoe leather. A watch that suits the wrist. Hosiery and socks that disappear instead of announcing themselves.

Finally, dress for the version of yourself you are walking towards, not the one you are leaving behind. The wardrobe goes first; the role follows.
